Tender Description

Established over 100 years ago, the Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the leading business interest organisation in the Mid West Region, representing its members at local, State and Federal levels.  The Chamber works in concert with key stakeholders such as the Mid West Development Commission, Small Business Development Centre Mid West, Regional Development Australia Mid West Gascoyne, City of Greater Geraldton and local governments across the region and the sub-regional areas (North Midlands, Batavia Coast and Murchison), various State government agencies (SBDC, Department of Commerce, Innovate WA), Geraldton Organised Primary Producers Cooperative Ltd (GOPP), Pollinators Inc., and, additionally, with the Western Australian Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry (RCCIWA) and CCIWA.

The Mid West Development Commission is finalising a regional ‘blueprint’ to guide the long term growth and development of the Mid West region of Western Australia.  The Mid West Regional Blueprint identifies key pillars through which targeted development strategies and subsequent investments will be made in the Mid West. A critical element identified in the Economic Development Pillar of the blueprint is ‘business development’.

The overall goal of the Mid West Business Development Strategy is growth, diversification and jobs. It is envisaged that the strategy will be both complementary and consistent with the overarching Mid West Regional Blueprint strategy and process.  It will need to take into account the three distinct sub-regions within the Mid West: namely, the Batavia Coast, Murchison and North Midlands. In terms of the business landscape, this project will concentrate on the small to medium enterprise landscape as strategic regional industrial development will be addressed separately.
