The APC has been appointed by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (PhysioBA) as the external accreditation authority for physiotherapy under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009, to undertake the accreditation function on behalf of the PhysioBA. As part of the accreditation function, the APC has responsibility for the development and regular review of Accreditation Standards as per Section 46 of the National Law.

This Request for Tender (RFT) is limited to Australian entities that conduct health-related or educational consultancy and/or standards development in the public, non-government, and/or private sector.

It is envisaged that the review of the Accreditation Standards for entry-level physiotherapy will be based on consideration of: the existing Accreditation Standard Requirements http://www.physiocouncil.com.au/accreditation ; known best practice with regard to accreditation standards; and guidance via broad stakeholder consultation. The project will be governed by a Steering Committee established by the APC. The Steering Committee will provide expert advice and assistance to the project.

The successful bidder will ideally have relevant and extensive experience in the development of entry level health related accreditation standards. The successful bidder will be required to work with a range of stakeholders. Evidence of delivery against project targets will be required.
