The works are expected to start on 17 November 2014 and will take twelve weeks to complete. There will be no work during Christmas and New Year break hence the site will remain close from 22nd December 2014 to 02 January 2015. Practical Completion should be achieved on 23 February 2015.

Two separate pricing options are required. Option 1, the non-recycling material is transported to Council’s Land Fill Facility at Bransgrove Road, Pannania (Kelso Tip) and no tipping fee is applicable to the contractor. This option will only be available if Council is in need of clay material for capping at Kelso Tip. Option 2, the non-recycling material will be taken to any other licenced land fill facility or DA approved construction site. All tipping fee and disposal cost are borne by the contractor.

The site is located in a residential area and the work involes closure of lanes whilst laying the drainage pipes. Road Occupancy Licence is required for the road closure from Roads and Maritime Services (former RTA). Due to the large volume of traffic during peak hours, RMS is likely to restrict the hours of road closure during the day. Night work may be permissible provided that jack hammering and other high noise generating works are not performed during late hours of night.

Contractors while submitting their tender should make emphasis on their construction program and work methodology and clearly identify the methodology to perform the work in restricted hours so that there is less impact on the traffic flow as well as noise level is kept to minimum level. Full road closure is not permitted unless otherwise directed by the Superintendent and permitted by RMS.

Laying of drainage pipe requires deep excavation (approximately 3 meter). Contractor needs to have shoring on site and use when required during laying of pipe.
