Tender Description

Ports North (PN) owns and maintains a common user cargo handling facility located at 24 Tingira Street Portsmith, Cairns. The facility fronts onto Smith’s Creek and is referred to as Smith’s Creek No.1, or “Mason’s Wharf” and includes a cargo receive/dispatch shed, open cargo yard with power outlets for refrigerated containers, a cargo wharf, lighting and associated infrastructure.

The main distribution board for the facility, located external to the building at the eastern end of the entry road, is aged and is in need of replacement. The new switchboard shall replace all of the functionality and metering of the existing board, whilst bringing the distribution board up to current codes and standards.

Furthermore, the new board shall provide space provision for two future 200Amp circuit breakers.

The work shall be carried out in accordance with the Specifications and Drawings listed herein.

The timing and staging of the decommissioning and removal of the existing board and the installation of the new board shall be planned by the Contractor to minimise disruptions to the facility users. Out of hours work may be necessary.

The Contract Works will include:
* Investigate existing site layout and functionality of existing switchboard
* Design of a replacement switchboard, including submission of shop drawings to PN
* Allowance for PN review of proposed design. Allow one (1) week for PN to review and approve
* Manufacture of a new switchboard
* Agree on timing of removal/installation and associated impacts on stakeholders – HOLD POINT
* Removal and delivery of the existing switchboard to Ports North Workshop.
* Installation of the new switchboard
* Commissioning, testing and certification of the new switchboard
* Supply of all documentation including commissioning records, as built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals.

Offers are invited for the Works described below in accordance with the Drawings and Specification (if any) supplied herewith, the Conditions of Offer and the Conditions of Agreement herein.
