The Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR) is the lead agency responsible for the implementation of government policy and initiatives in sport and recreation in Western Australia.

A key role of the department is to contribute to the healthy lifestyle of Western Australians by increasing physical activity in the community through sport and recreation. DSR operates four recreation camps in the metropolitan area that offer accommodation in a camping environment and also offer high level recreation and team building programs.

The four camps; Bickley Outdoor Recreation Camp, Ern Halliday Recreation Camp, Point Walter Recreation and Conference Centre and Woodman Point Recreation Camp, all have extensive internal and external roping facilities. DSR works with other Government Agencies and Industry organizations to progress the participation in sport and recreation activities at these camps.

The Department retains the view that a single contract to inspect, service and maintain all roping facilities is a more efficient and cost effective model for both Government and the provider of those services.

Therefore, the Department of Sport and Recreation is seeking submissions from organizations with the capacity to provide services for the regular inspection, servicing and maintenance of ‘all roping facilities’ at the four metropolitan based camps in Western Australia.
