The key project outcome is to build a stronger evidence base to support policy decision making aimed at more effectively, efficiently and sustainably improving quality early childhood education and care provision for the longer term benefit of children.
The methodology underpinning the intervention(s) will be based on a review of the evidence base around the most effective and sustainable intervention(s) to improve educational programming in early childhood services, particularly with regard to best practice teacher pedagogy and practice. Particular weight will be given to research designs that will allow a robust assessment of the impact of the intervention on child outcomes (e.g. randomised controlled trials or high quality quasi-experimental research designs).
