Council is seeking to provide a secure water supply to the township of Baan Baa, approximately 38kms south of Narrabri on the Kamilaroi Highway. The project proposes to provide a cost effective expandable, secure, reticulated mains water supply system where there is none existing. The town has a population of approximately 200 people. At present the town has no permanent water supply, potable water is supplied by the Shire to residential rainwater tanks.

The proposal is to provide permanent potable water from a new groundwater bore to be located approximately, or up to 4 kilometres away. Water will be piped to the town under gravity after it is pumped from the bore to a small reservoir. The project includes town reticulation. The project is designed to be expandable to accommodate growth in the town.

THIS CONTRACT (CONTRACT 2014-15/13):
This contract involves the provision of total support in progressing this project to a successful operating status via; total project integration, risk management, value engineering, options reassessment, costing of options, written reporting, network modelling, recording assets in register, design, stakeholder management, procure all approvals and licenses, act as Council's representative with the NSW Office of Water, EPA NSW and similar agencies, prepare all specifications and contract documents for contractors, procurement management and advice to Council on acceptance of contractor tenders, project management, site superintendence, contract administration of contractors, construction management, trouble-shooting with contractors to help expedite progress, and commissioning oversight provision, contract administration and assistance with overcoming operational problems up to the end of 12 months defects liability period after commissioning.
