Tender Details
Tender Description
Tenders are invited from suitably experienced and qualified engineering consultants to undertake concept and detailed design, and associated project management services for the Georges River boardwalk and pedestrian / cycleway bridge project.
Liverpool City Council is making a significant contribution to creating an attractive and vibrant city centre with an ambitious program of streetscape upgrades. Council is also developing a CBD Ring Road to facilitate circular vehicular movement around the city centre. The Construction of Boardwalk along the Georges River, a shared user path and the river crossing is one of the many initiatives Council has for the city under the Building Our New City program. This will be a significant piece of commuter infrastructure that will provide greater connection to the southern part of the river with the CBD.
An important objective of the project is to restore the physical connections between the CBD and the southern side of the Georges River. There are plans for connecting revitalised CBD with its naturally beautiful Georges River.
The other objective of the project is to provide enjoyment to the pedestrian, cyclist, residents and tourists to allow access along the Georges River from the Casula Powerhouse Access Road to Haigh Park. It is intended that such access will be provided by a boardwalk. It will retain the existing bush character of the location and thereby provide a leafy semi-rural environment for both pedestrians and cyclists on the edge of the Georges River corridor.
