This is a Quality Assurance Contract.
The NSW Government’s Code of Practice for Procurement (NSW Code) and the NSW Government’s Implementation Guidelines to the NSW Code of Practice for Procurement for: Building and Construction Industry (NSW Guidelines) apply to this project. Compliance with the NSW Code and NSW Guidelines is a pre-requisite to submitting any response to a procurement process (expression of interest or tender response) and to any successful applications being awarded. All applicants must comply with the NSW Government Code of Practice for Procurement.

Tenders are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Contractors for the Design and Construction of a Noise Barrier Southbound on the Princes Highway South of Bland Street Kiama.

The minimum length of the noise wall is to be 213 metres inclusive of an 8 metre taper on either end. Alterations to the existing safety barrier are also required as part of the works.

The scope of works includes, but is not limited to:
* Preliminary investigations
* Design and construction of noise walls and associated items in accordance with RMS R271
* Design and construction of safety barrier alterations including the connection of the safety barrier to Bland Street bridge at the northern extent of the noise barrier and connection to existing safety barrier at the southern extent of the noise barrier.
* Design and construction of all required drainage required due to the noise wall. This includes drainage adjacent to the noise barrier and under the noise barrier.
* Traffic Management including lane closure with concrete barriers or similar. Barriers are required to be removed or shifted prior to long weekends and replaces after long weekends in accordance with RMS G10 requirements.
* Erosion and sedimentation control and other environmental protection measures
* Clearing of vegetation
* Vegetation plantings and landscaping

Prequalification:
* The organisation undertaking the traffic control must be registered with the Principal in Category G: Traffic Control.
* The contractor must be experienced in the design and construction of noise walls. The Contractor must provide written evidence of their experience in design and construction of noise walls and written evidence of their recently completed work in addition to evidence of strong technical and WHS management system capability and financial capacity. The Contractor must also provide written evidence of implementation of effective quality /WHS / environmental systems both at corporate and project level.
