Expression of Interest Design and Construct Contract for Main Canal Automation
Prequalification of design and construct contractors for the civil works.

Murrumbidgee Irrigation Limited (MI) has received Australian Government funding of $85 million under Round 3 of the Private Irrigation Infrastructure Operators Program (PIIOP) in NSW to undertake water infrastructure modernisation projects in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA). These projects include automation of the Main Canal.

Main Canal automation will help to meet the challenges for improving irrigation system delivery efficiency, enhancing service delivery and flexibility to meet changing commodity demands, and the delivery of environmental benefits. This project scope covers some 63 structures over a 77.4km length of the Main Canal.

Major works will be required to be executed during the irrigation shut down period (1st June 2017 to 1st August 2017). The remainder of the works will need to be undertaken from 30th March to 30th May and 1st August to 1st November 2017.

MI invites companies or joint ventures with substantial experience in the design and construction of civil works for large scale open channel irrigation systems to submit an Expression of Interest.

Prequalified and shortlisted companies will be invited to submit tenders for design and construction of the civil works.
