The Office of the Chief Psychiatrist, Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch, Clinical Excellence Division, Queensland Health is conducting market sounding through this RFI to ascertain interest, capability and indicative cost to:
a) Develop, test and evaluate a lived experience peer support delivery model for people presenting with a suicidal crisis at Queensland Health emergency departments and other acute health service settings, over an approximate 15 month timeframe; and
b) Ensure the lived experience peer support model will also be culturally appropriate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people presenting with a suicidal crisis.
The aim of this RFI is for Queensland Health to receive responses to assist it to determine interest, capability and cost to undertake the proposed development, testing and evaluation of a lived experience peer support model within Queensland Health emergency departments and other acute health care settings for people experiencing a suicidal crisis. This program will contribute to the delivery of high quality, evidence based therapeutic care for people identified with a suicide risk.
