The Townsville Airport is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced roofing contractors willing to be considered for a major capital investment, design and construct project involving the replacement of the main terminal roof and guttering system.
The existing 12,000m2 of roof and guttering is over 30 years old with recent condition assessments indicating that the material is nearing the end of life and requires replacement.
The project requirement will be to utilize the latest in roof and gutter technology and products with the client's preference being a clip and lock type that is similar to existing and minimizes roof penetrations.
The scope of work also includes installation of perimeter anchor bolts, re-route of cable ducting to inside the ceiling cavity and removal/relocation of existing roof mounted aerials.
The contractor will be required to perform the scope of works within a live and operating airport terminal and aircraft apron and will have a robust and well documented method of works plan submitted prior to commencement with the focus on minimal disruption to airport operations and traffic while adhering to all regulatory requirements with permits and licensing by CASA and airport management.
A full suite of appropriate project planning, safety and execution documentation will be a requirement of the contract.
