Business Requirement

The $1.25 million Renewable Technology Industry Development Program seeks to support South Australian businesses in the renewable energy and energy storage sectors to strengthen business and process capabilities to participate in large scale renewables projects both locally and abroad. Under this program, companies have the potential to access a grant for up to $200,000 in public funds to improve their business’ ability to engage with the renewables sector. Grants from the program are available via a competitive application process.

As part of application assessment process and due diligence surrounding the Renewable Technology Industry Development Program, the Department seeks to engage independent business reviewers to conduct independent assessments of applicant companies. These assessments will examine a business’ needs and capacity to deliver their proposed project. The independent reviewer will:

* Assess the applicant’s proposal to strengthen its ability and position to secure greater opportunities to supply products and/or services in the renewable energy and energy storage sector
* Evaluate the company’s ability to supply into large scale renewable and energy storage projects
* Determine critical business and process improvements required to increase company’s ability to engage in the renewables and energy storage supply chain
* Clarify the company’s position and ability to implement the proposed business change the company has put forward, and whether that will deliver the outcome the company suggests
* Review other business process and strategy related activities.
* Deliverables and Outcomes
* The business reviewer(s) will deliver to the Department a business capability report on specified applicant companies. This will include on-site company assessments and meeting with the company’s management team. The Department will rely on the reviewer’s expertise as part of the input to the assessment panel’s process of selecting grant recipients.

Deliverable: Company assessment reports

Note: The successful tenderer(s) will be contracted under an arrangement per review. While a standard rate and approach will be agreed to, the number of reviews undertaken is entirely contingent on the number of applicants for the fund. Successful tenderers for the panel are not guaranteed to be awarded a review under the panel arrangement.
