Tender Description

The Company is requesting Expressions of Interest for a Work Package that involves simulation modelling to be carried out as part of the Definition Phase Study (DPS) for the MHS.

The combination of production schedule, diesel trucking, grizzlies, ore passes, train loading and haulage is a complex system. The effect of changes to production rates by changes in the system have previously been evaluated and validated using simulation. The existing simulation model will be required to be updated with the results of the SPS rail engineering work.

The purpose of this package of work is to investigate and confirm the operability and throughput capacity of the Preferred Investment Alternative (PIA) orepass and rail configuration, together with the full Northern Mine Area (NMA) and SMA systems; and to identify the limiting constraints. The aim is to support the Olympic Dam underground mining operation over the short to the long term.

The system is to be assessed against mine plan production schedules, these being similar to those tested during the previous modelling including the rail system feeding an upgraded Clark shaft system. In particular the modelling should:
* Determine the production performance of the final MHS SPS configuration
* Assess the effect of additional waste and low grade development tonnes in the system,
* Provide annual performance estimates for the first 10 years of the schedule
* Test the potential for congestion at specific high volume grizzlies
* Run modelling scenarios based on updated rail operating parameters obtained from detailed design (e.g. revised speeds from loco supplier, calculated reliability parameters, load factors, control system interface delays, etc.)
* Confirm the number and capacity of wagons per train required to meet the required throughputs
* Complete capacity analysis (unconstrained, downstream constrain and up/downstream constrained) of the final system
* Run modelling scenarios for range analysis of the final system

Simulation is required for the Optimised With (OW) and Optimised Without cases (OWO).

In particular the work should confirm production capacity and range for the OWO, including altering road connections and altering ventilation constraints to reflect the current concepts for the system, and estimate the number of trucks required for the OWO case.
