The Independent Validation Body (IVB) Services scope of work is as follows:
* Check the suitability of the selected Safety Critical Elements and Performance Standards for the Barossa Offshore Project to confirm they provide measures to protect the health and safety of persons from the identified Major Accident Events.
* Confirm the appropriateness of the codes and standards selected.
* Assist ConocoPhillips in the development of the Scope of Validation
* Assist ConocoPhillips in the development of a Validation Scheme that outline the Scope of Work to be undertaken by the IVB services during the FEED and Execute phase of the development.
* Execute the Validation SoW in line with the Validation Scheme. This will consist of a combination of:
  * Desktop design reviews (and independent analysis if necessary)
  * Survey of specific Safety Critical Equipment at both vendor and shipyard
  * Witness of critical tests
  * Review of various records
* Issue various Validation Certificates in line with the completed Scope of Work and the requirements of the Scope of Validation.
* Liaise frequently with both ConocoPhillips and contractors.

Minimum requirements for the IVB:
* Track record in delivering IVB services for Major Offshore Oil & Gas Capital Projects in Australia including understanding of NOPSEMA regulatory regime.
* Able to demonstrate both Independence and Competence to deliver the IVB services for the Barossa Offshore Project.
* An office located with Australia, preferably in Perth.
* An established presence globally with offices located in the main Oil & Gas construction hubs including the key shipyards.
* Established systems and procedures on the execution of Validation projects.
* Knowledge of both Australian Standards and international recognised codes and standards commonly used for major Oil & Gas projects.
