The National Broadband Network (nbn) is a high speed broadband network designed to reach 100 per cent of Australian premises and provide the communications infrastructure to help us stop falling behind in an increasingly online world.

nbn is committed to delivering leading edge broadband services to all Australians by leveraging the three types of technology available – fixed line, fixed wireless and satellite, depending on location. As part of the fixed radio (wireless) component of the Network, nbn is proposing to expand the existing radio network base stations at the following locations;
* Lot 181 Arborsix Rd, Glenwood QLD 4570 (LOT 181 and Plan RP146357) Site Ref: Glenwood North, R01-4BBZ-4BBG-5107)
* 928 Neerdie Rd, Glenwood QLD 4570 (Lot 740 and Plan: RP145145) Site Ref: Glenwood South, R01-4BBZ-4BBG-5108)
* 40 Sykes Rd, Glenwood QLD 4570 (Lot 1, Plan RP163602) Site Ref: Glenwood West, R01-4BBZ-4BBG-5106)


The works are to provide high quality wireless broadband services to customers in the surrounding localities.

The proposed works on site will involve the upgrade of existing technology upon the facilities including and not limited to the replacement and installation of new antennas, radiocommunications dishes and associated ancillary equipment to enhance transmitting technology.

Furthermore, the works will involve the replacement and addition of equipment shelters at ground level, adjacent to the facilities. nbn regards the proposed installations to comprise Low Impact Facilities under the Telecommunications (Low-Impact Facilities) Determination 2018. In the circumstances, the proposed installations do not require planning approval from Council.

This notification is undertaken in accordance with the requirements of Section 7 of the Mobile Phone Base Station Deployment Code 2018.
