Tender Description

The project on “Mainstreaming Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Use into Inland Fisheries Practices in Freshwater Ecosystems of High Conservation Value” (GCP/INS/303/GFF-IFish) is funded by GEF with FAO as the Executing Agency and the Government Executing Partner being the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) of Indonesia.

The project intends to combine mainstreaming of inland aquatic biodiversity into resource development and management policy, with demonstrations of conservation and sustainable use of inland aquatic biodiversity in critical habitats at four sites in Kalimantan, Java and Sumatra, and effective monitoring and assessment. This is expected to increase the protection of high conservation-value freshwater ecosystems and their biodiversity in Indonesia. In turn this will assist to increase the provision of ecosystem goods and services and enhance food security for local people dependent on inland fisheries for their livelihoods.

After development of participatory land management plans for the critical inland aquatic ecosystems, at the selected demonstration sites in peatlands, river basins and wetlands in five districts in Kalimantan, Java and Sumatra, resource users from 5 Districts at 4 demonstration sites need training in EAFM and EAA principles to allow them to be active participants in the implementation. In close coordination with the project team, the Service Provider (SP) is proposed to implement a community level training on EAFM and EAA.

The FAO Representation in Indonesia hereby invites qualified and capable vendors to submit their best offer for the services of the above mentioned needs.
