Tender ID: 385820
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Coates Memorial Church (the Church), is a national monument located in Matakohe (approximately 2 – 2.5 hours north of Auckland city). It was constructed in 1949 in memory of the Right Honourable Joseph Gordon Coates, Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1925 – 1928.
The Ministry for Culture and Heritage, in its capacity as the preserver of our heritage, including national monuments, is responsible for the on-going maintenance of the Church.
Within two or three years of its construction, it became evident that the Church was subject to moisture ingress and other issues causing deterioration to various parts of the building. In order to address these issues, the Ministry commissioned a condition and remediation report which was completed in January 2019.
Based on that report, the Ministry is now seeking the services of a supplier to undertake the specialist nature of the repairs as specified in the report.
