Tender Description
The City of Cockburn (the Principal) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced contractor(s) for the provision of metal fabrication and mobile welding services within the City of Cockburn boundaries, to the Principal’s properties and heavy plant.
The Contractor(s) shall provide for both maintenance and manufacturing services for all aspects of metal fabrication and mobile welding requirements. The contractor(s) will need to demonstrate a broad set of skills, from basic welding and fabrication work to sign construction and installation.
Services from time to time shall be performed at various frequencies required to meet operational requirements of the asset and may occur at more than one asset at any one time. Generally the services can be undertaken during standard working hours Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm, however, this will be at the discretion of the Principal’s Representative. The Principal does not provide any assurance as to the nature or quantity of work which could be allocated to the Contractor.
The Principal maintains approximately 127 Council owned buildings for Business, Operations, and Sporting and Leisure pursuits, it also maintains over 1,600 hectares of bushland and 700 hectares of sporting and leisure park land.
The Contractor shall provide:
* All labour and materials required to carry out the works, plus all tools, plant and equipment, (including access, transport and communication equipment) necessary to carry out welding and fabricating works.
* All personal protective equipment (PPE) and subsequent control measures to ensure the area of work is safe to all stakeholders. This includes appropriately securing equipment in accordance with hot works and working at heights; occupational safety and health regulations.
Tenderers may apply for one or both of the following services:
* Metal Fabrication Services;
* Mobile Welding Services.
The proposed Contract shall be in force for a period of three (3) years from the date of contract award, with a Principal instigated option to extend up to a further One (1) year, plus an additional twelve (12) months after that, up to a maximum of Five (5) years.
