BAE Systems Australia has been selected to deliver JORN Phase 6 – the upgrade and sustainment of Australia’s long-range high frequency radar network.
Under the initial AU$1 billion, 10-year contract, BAE Systems will provide an important upgrade to Australia’s most complex and critical Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance capability. The 100 per cent Australian designed and supported solution will ensure a high level of industry participation and the application of rapidly developing technology.
Under the Contract BAE Systems has committed to deliver the aims of the program, which are to provide value for money, and meet the current and future Australian Defence Force and Industry capability requirements.
BAE Systems Australia is currently seeking capabilities that allow further innovation and will be conducting market testing of local industry and contesting a number of work packages.
