Tender Description

GORCC currently manages a suite of natural and built assets within our management tenure, including the Anglesea Family Caravan Park boat ramp and beach access point. The ramp's close proximity to the caravan park and Surf Coast Walk has ensured it is a valued asset to community and visitors. Despite its inherent importance and GORCCs significant effort to improve its longevity through implementing a suite of preventative maintenance activities, the ramp has reached the end of its design life. Substantial undermining of the existing concrete slab, erosion of the subgrade and excessive algal growth on the toe has rendered the current ramp unsafe for use. Subsequently, safety related works carried out in accord with GHD's 2015 Beach Access Ramp and Cliff Erosion Options Report permanently closed the ramp to large vessels and pedestrians and diverted all pedestrians to access stairs found on the western side of the ramp.

GORCC recently commissioned AW Maritime to design a permanent public 'DDA complaint' access ramp that takes into consideration site parameters, safety and user group requirements, and plan durability focused remediation works to the existing boat ramp (decommissioned) which align with the ramp's amenity role.

GORCC is offering a contract for the construction of a universal access ramp and specified remediation works to the existing ramp. The contract includes supply of materials and equipment for all necessary components outlined in 7.1 of the tender specifications. The objective of this specification is to ensure that the designated works are undertaken in a competent and professional manner in accordance with all relevant Australian Standards and Coastal Management requirements.

Tenderers please note: prior to the commencement of the proposed works GORCC is required to obtain planning permission from the Department of Environment Land Water. This application has been lodged. The letter of acceptance of contract will be issued subject to receiving all statutory consent(s).
