Tender Description

MFB has a proud, illustrious history of serving the Victorian community. Our 2,342 employees help safeguard more than 3.4 million Melbourne residents, workers and visitors along with assets and infrastructure worth billions of dollars. Our day-to-day service covers an area of over 1,000 square kilometres and our significant resources can also be called on to support emergency management anywhere in Victoria. In addition, our specialist operational staff respond to major incidents both interstate and overseas.

MFB delivers most of its services in the Metropolitan District – a two-region, five-district area – and operates 47 stations across 25 local government areas. Our structural arrangements are aligned to State Government regional boundaries that enable us to work cohesively with local, regional and state partners to plan, control and coordinate responses to incidents under the state emergency management arrangements.

The Property Services Department is seeking tenders for the provision of Ground Water Monitoring and Testing at MFB sites across the Melbourne Metropolitan area.

The Contractor will be responsible for the delivery of a range of Ground Water Monitoring and Environmental Assessment services to meet EPA compliance.

The following lists the range of Ground Water Monitoring and Environmental Assessment Services that the Contractor will be required to provide and will include but not necessarily limited to:-.

EPA Compliance Management – MFB Property Portfolio:

a) Planned Ground Water Monitoring – nominated sites
b) Ad-hoc Ground Water Monitoring – on an “as needs” basis
c) Planned Environmental Assessments – nominated sites
d) Ad-hoc Environmental Assessments – on an “as needs” basis
e) Environmental Compliance Reporting
f) Subcontractor Management
g) Water Quality Testing – VEMTC and on an “as needs” basis
h) Fire Ground Incident Environmental Testing – on an “as needs” basis

 

Planning

a) Contingency Planning
b) Planning and Results Analysis
c) Inspection of Sites
d) Current EPA Requirements Compliance, and analysis in respect to future compliance in consideration of potential legislative and industry practice changes
The term of the contract will be for an initial period of 2 years with two (2) one year options at MFB’s sole discretion. This is to enable continuity of service and enable the successful contractor to fully understand the requirements of the MFB portfolio
