The Scope of Work is to provide Site Electrical services for the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix, to be held at Albert Park in Melbourne.

The Works under the Contract must also include, but not be limited to:

• preliminaries, including provision of own Site facilities;
• installation of main switchboards (after checking/servicing) and plinths onto the existing in-ground concrete bases;
• connection at both ends of existing permanent consumer’s cables from the low voltage terminals of transformers to the main switchboard incoming terminals (existing cables coiled in cable pits);
• installation of distribution boards as well as underground and aerial cables from distribution boards to final points of connection;
• installation of aerial cable support systems including poles, catenary, star pickets, pole stays, star pickets, protection caps, cable tray and cable ladder;
• provision of local conduit works;
• installation and termination of aerial submain cables;
• termination of existing underground submain cable tails (located in cable pits) to distribution boards;
• connection of cables at switchboards, distribution boards, building connection junction boxes and similar points of connection;
• advice of completion to the Supply Authority;
• testing and energisation of the supply progressively across the Site;
• installation of floodlights for site security purposes;
• installation of Earth Stakes and Earthing cables for both main switchboards and diesel generators as per AS 3000. Earth stakes for diesel generators will be supplied by the Diesel Generator Contractor;
• installation and connection of temporary consumer main cables from diesel generators to main switchboards or distribution boards;
• installation and connection of dedicated temporary circuits to superscreen facilities;
• provision of temporary builders’ pole for connection of electricity supply to Gates 1, 3, 5 and 8 ticketing facilities. Liaise with CitiPower;
• installation of temporary power supplies to portable office and toilet buildings, associated Formula 1® Paddock buildings, evaporative air cooling, TV nodes, starting lights system, television commentators’ boxes (general power only), Public Address amplifier huts;
• installation of temporary power submain cable to caterer’s supply points;
• installation of temporary lighting and socket outlets to Pit Building facilities, temporary socket outlets to Pit Wall including assistance to draw out Race Communication cabling from pit during the installation of Pit Wall;
• installation of standby power supply submain cables including connection thereof (i.e. Medical Centre, site engineering office, GPTV, Pit Building 1 (main supply), Emergency Coordination Centre, Commentary Buildings, Pit Building 2 (non-essential back up supply), Media Lounge);
• install cable ladders Paddock Club flyover walkway;
• installation of temporary power supplies to GPTV compound and technical power to temporary modular building;
• installation of power supplies including sub circuits and power socket outlets/power boards in the International & National Media Centre (Pit Building 1);
• reconfigure locations of existing distribution boards within paddock club load centres and wiring of all appliances based on internal partitioning for that year;
• reconfigure existing sub main cables and Teams power distribution boards based on garage allocations for that year;
• installation and connection of standby submain cables to Teams garages including fit-off of standby power enclosure;
• installation of cable trays (including inter-building support bridging) to support standby generator submain cables to teams garages;
• installation and connection of 3 phase power supplies to F1 Team Hospitality marquees, single phase power supplies (63 Amp) to Team Hospitality Kitchens and temporary internal wiring of appliances within Team Hospitality Marquees;
• installation and connection of 20 Amp 3 phase power supplies to Teams electric stoves (as required);
• installation of temporary power supplies from the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre to Gate 2 temporary facilities in the MSAC grounds including liaising with the MSAC staff to source the required supply;
• installation of temporary power supply to fire booster pump including installation of battery charger to booster pump system;
• provision of temporary internal fit-out within existing sports pavilions for general light and power requirements;
• re-instatement of lighting circuits to a total of 8 overpasses including interconnection of internal lighting circuits between overpass modules;
• installation of the contractors’ compound’s electrical installation works.
• provision of as-built drawings and documentation;
• recording of inventory including the development and maintenance of an asset condition register;
• payment of all connection fees for points of electrical supply by CitiPower;
• arrangement and payment for all required inspections by CitiPower;
• electrical certification for all electrical facilities carried out by the Contractor;
• provision of standby electrical crew for race days;
• provision of electrical crew for night roster.
• Installation must also include the testing, operational maintenance of existing facilities throughout the stated periods of use. This will include but not be limited to the following areas:
