North East Water is seeking a suitably experienced company to act in the capacity of Principal Contractor to detail design, construct and commission a 3M Watt Solar Power Plant adjacent to its Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) located at 28 Old Barnawartha Road, West Wodonga, Victoria 3690. The Principal Contractor will be engaged to adhere to the Principals’ Preliminary Design under a Design and Construct model contract.
The project Scope of Works includes design, supply, install, test, commission and verification of all systems associated to achieve a functioning plant that integrates and supplies power to the existing WWTP while also enabling power exportation to grid. The plants functionality will enable the WWTP to continue operations in the event that the WWTP is islanded off-grid. Work breakdown of the Solar Power Plant includes elements of; Solar Array, High Voltage Reticulation, Systems Integration and Civil / Structural / Mechanical works.
North East Water requires the Principal Contractor to have a supplier management system that is fully certified, by a certifying body against one of the standards / assurance systems listed by both the Department of Treasury & Finance (DTF) and WorkSafe. The Tenderer must be able to demonstrate compliance with DTF’s 12 point evaluation criteria. North East Water encourages Contractors to undertake the DTF’s prequalification process to enable registration for construction and/or construction related services on the Construction Contractors Register. The Victorian Government and Public bodies such as North East Water may use the Construction Contractors Register to create shortlists of Contractors to invite to submit tenders for Public Construction and Construction Related Services.
