On behalf of the owners of 1150-1168 Pittwater Road Collaroy (and their company SWNA Pty Limited), Horton Coastal Engineering Pty Ltd invites tenders from suitably resourced and experienced contractors for construction of an approximately 125m long seawall (coastal protection works) at 1150-1168 Pittwater Road Collaroy, on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

The new seawall is essentially proposed to be a vertical concrete wall with a rock boulder toe. The upper portion of the wall (reinforced concrete) is to be supported on continuous flight auger (CFA) piles. The length of each CFA pile is just over 9m. Mass concrete/grout plug piling or jet grouting is required to fill the gaps between the contiguous piles to reduce the risk of soil migration through the seawall. Anchors are required to reduce the risk of the seawall overturning at times of beach scour (low sand levels).

The formal agreement between owners commits all 10 property owners to build the wall, deposit the required funds for construction into a trust account prior to work commencing, and pay their share of all project costs.
This project is the first of several similar projects along the Collaroy-Narrabeen beachfront, so a successful tender on this project and satisfactory completion of the works may lead to considerable additional work opportunities for that contractor (with subsequent projects over an approximate 220m length).
