Tender Description
Burrun Dalai promotes and recognises the importance of identity and family relationships for Aboriginal children and young people and acknowledges the particular importance for Aboriginal children and young people in the OOHC system. Burrun Dalai believes a strong sense of belonging and cultural identity supports Aboriginal children and young people's self-esteem, mental health and well-being.
Burrun Dalai is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) to deliver Cultural Programs for our children and young people across our three geographical locations surrounding our offices at Kempsey, Tamworth and Taree. Potential service providers should be aware that any Cultural Programs delivered may, only when culturally appropriate, be delivered to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal foster carers.
Examples of Cultural Programs include, but would not be limited to, Cultural Camps, Cultural Days Trips, Language, Dance, Weaving, Art and Story Telling.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The EOI must address the following:
1. The name of the organisation or individual proposing the Cultural Program(s).
2. Outline the Cultural Program(s) proposed.
3. Describe how the Cultural Program(s) proposed will benefit our Aboriginal children and young people, including how the program will bring a strong sense of belonging and cultural identity and assist them with their self esteem, mental health and well-being.
4. Describe how the Cultural Program(s) proposed integrate and support our local Aboriginal Community.
5. Indicative timeframe for the commencement of the Cultural Program(s).
6. Indicative Cost for the Cultural Program(s) proposed.
7. Provide contact details for the organisation or individual proposing the Cultural Program(s).
8. Demonstrate that the applicant can provide an employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) for all Cultural Program staff.
9. Demonstrate the applicant has or can obtain the correct insurance and coverage level for the Cultural Program proposed including Public Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance Coverage.
10. Provide an ABN (Australian Business Number) and clarify whether the applicant's charges will incur GST (Goods & Services Tax).
SELECTION PROCESS
Under the oversight of Burrun Dalai's Executive Officer, Cultural Programs, the Cultural Committee for each office (Kempsey, Tamworth & Taree) will review the Expression of Interest applications received. Candidates short-listed by may be invited to discuss their proposal in more detail with Burrun Dalai.
Cultural Program(s) already being successfully run may be given preference; however, Burrun Dalai also invites expressions of interest from individuals and/ or agencies wanting to support the sense of belonging and cultural identity of our children and young people.
INDICATIVE TIMEFRAME It is envisaged that all applicants will be notified of the outcome of this Expression of Interest within three months of the closing date.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
Expressions of Interest must be received on or before the Closing Time and Date: 10.00am, 20th April 2020 and can be posted or hand delivered in a sealed envelope to any of the following Burrun Dalai Offices:
