BAE Systems is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) to provide specialist Engineering support services in support of AH-1Z Viper Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH).
Bell Textron Incorporated (Bell) and BAE Systems teamed in February 2016 in order tooffer Bell’s AH-1Z Viper to the Commonwealth of Australia as the replacement for the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter. Bell’s new generation AH-1Z Viper, with its Cobra heritage, is a mature, off-the-shelf, proven and highly capable manned combat helicopter that will deliver all of Army’s Reconnaissance, Attack and Security effects in the close and deep contested battlespace. Viper is available, capable, interoperable and affordable to deliver all ADF mission effects and rapidly achieve operational milestones.
Together, as ‘Team Zulu Viper’ (Team Z Viper), Bell and BAE Systems have integrated their expert capabilities to establish a robust and experienced team ready to partner with Defence and Australian Defence Industry to deliver an FMS or FMS/DCS contract in the first five years.
BAE Systems is the responsible lead for Through Life, Sustainment and Training Support for Viper within Australia. Therefore, we are seeking expressions of interest from Australian Industry for potential support for the project.
Suppliers will be required to supply specialist engineering support for one or part there of the following:
• Specialist engineering support for the AH-1Z Viper air vehicle including activities such as:
o ASDEFCON tender engineering response,
o test engineering,
o logistics engineering,
o system safety,
o weapons integration,
o test and evaluation,
o certification,
o airworthiness (operational and technical), and
o transition into service, including ship helicopter interface activities.
• Ground Support Equipment engineering support; and
• Specialist test equipment engineering support.
The purpose of the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is to establish the feasibility of prospective Australia based industrial partners to provide support services to BAE Systems for the ARH Replacement Program in order maximize local Australian Industry Capability.
2. PRE-QUALIFICATION QUESTIONNAIRE

3. Provide details of previous Defence/Commercial projects for which your company has delivered a similar scope of work.
4. Detail acquired company certification and accreditation which demonstrates relevant qualifications to support the scope of work.
5. Detail any relevant Australian Defence security clearances or DISP membership your organisation holds.
6. State what, if any, elements of your proposed products/services will be imported from overseas.
7. Provide details of the company’s management organisation structure.
8. Are you an Indigenous Enterprise?
9. Do you have a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in place?
10. Please provide the number of Indigenous/ Aboriginal/ Torres Islander employees you organisation has. (Stipulate full time and part time)
11. Do you have a diversity and inclusion policy in place?
12. Does your organisation support Veterans in your workplace and if so, provide details of how this support is managed/encouraged.
13. Detail any competitive discriminators that you believe your organisation has that have not been identified in the answers to previous questions
14. Have you updated your ICN company profile with your trading name, contact details, website, ABN, number of employees, annual turnover, export details (if applicable) and ANZSIC codes?
This information will be used in assessing this EOI in due course.
