The High bury Landfill Authority (HLA) is a Local Government Regional Subsidiary formed to manage the post closure phase of the Highbury Landfill. The Member Councils are Burnside, Norwood Payneham and St. Peters, and Walkerville.

HLA is calling for Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified persons willing to be appointed to HLA's Audit Committee as an independeny Member. Interested persons should ideally demonstrate financial, auditing, risk management, environmental managemnet and commercial expertise.

The functions of the Committee include:

• Monitoring the participation of managemnet and the external auditors in the financial reporting process.
• Reviewing annual financial statements to ensure that they conform to statutory requirements.
• oversight and making recommendation as to the approach used by management to address environmental and commercial risks;
• Reviewing and making recommendations as to how HLA's corporate, financial governance and legal responsibilities are addressed.
