WSP Australia Pty Ltd hereby invite Expressions of Interest in the proposed construction of Refurbishment Works at Katherine Government Centre.

In all, the two-storey building contains in the order of 4,500 square metres of office space which will be comprehensively refurbished with a new office type fitout.

Complete tender drawings and specifications will be issued to successful applicants only in late June 2020.

General conditions of Contract will be AS 4000.

A performance bond of 5% will be required for the full duration of the Contract including the Defects and Maintenance period of 12 months.

Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably experienced Building Contractors who can comply with the following selection criteria:

• The Contractor must be a Territory Enterprise operating in the Northern Territory with a permanent presence in the NT and must own and operate a substantial company office within Darwin or Katherine.
• Previous experience in the planning and construction of major building projects.
• The ability to effectively control and coordinate construction projects within existing occupied premises, such as offices.
• Demonstrated ability to fully fund major construction works within the specified time limits of contract payments.
• The provision of a detailed list of proposed subcontractors, noting that substantial inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business will be advantageous.
• Demonstrated and continuing commitment to the employment, skills development and mentoring of indigenous people will be advantageous.

All proposals shall be submitted in a form which shows the applicant’s overall understanding of the proposed project and fully describe the applicant’s methodologies to be applied to complete the Works on time and to a quality standard of construction.

Indigenous Building Contractors are strongly encouraged to make submissions and will be viewed favourably.
