Finish surfaces shall be topsoil spread with hydromulch / grass seeding as per Clause 3.18 or as approved by Principal’s Representative.

3.18 Rehabilitation and Revegetation

The following clauses must be read in conjunction with the CRN Approval conditions and CCRP-000000-PLN-EN-000501, however the below clauses are not applicable if a Revegetation Management Plan has been prepared for any specific works.

3.18.1 Topsoil Respread

Topsoil shall be respread to all disturbed and finished earth surfaces excluding subgrades and foundations, top of rail formation, RST, and road pavement; or any other areas as noted on the Drawings.

The surface to be topsoiled shall be tyned or scarified to a depth of 100 mm in the direction perpendicular to the slope gradient. The depth of topsoil respread shall be as nominated in the Drawings. If no such depth is nominated, a minimum of 100 mm (150 mm on dispersive material) shall be respread Witness Point. Topsoil respreading at all fauna connectivity and environmentally sensitive areas shall be in accordance with project approvals. Respread topsoil shall be lightly compacted to form a stable surface.

3.18.2 Revegetation

Grassing by seed shall be carried out using a seed mix as directed by Principal’s Representative,

recommended by the local government or local farming co-operative. The seed mix shall be spread over he prepared topsoil at a rate as instructed by a local supplier or otherwise at the rate of 200 g / 100 m2.

Prior to seeding, the ground shall be fertilised with a uniformly applied mix spread and the topsoil shall be lightly cultivated, and moisture conditioned as required prior to fertilising.

The surface must display a relatively dense uniform spread of newly growing grass seedlings over the area specified on the Design Documentation Witness Point. Grassed areas shall be protected from all traffic for the duration of the Contract.
