Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is the leading national historic heritage agency and cares for 44 New Zealand’s significant heritage places. HNZPT heritage portfolio ranges from pā sites, farming and early industrial sites to urban mansions, public buildings and mission stations Across its property portfolio, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga holds an outstanding collection of heritage items, exceptionally well-preserved machineries and historic landscape features, which give a unique insight into New Zealand past.
Point cloud data capturing and spatial modelling (object of this RFP) is the first stage of the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Virtual Heritage project. Project long term goals are to improve property documentation, conservation and management, to enhance and diversify the visitor experience and to create new opportunities for digital learning, access from a distance, employment, social wellbeing and community engagement.
We seek proposals from professional companies (Tenderer) with proven digital capture and heritage modelling capabilities and with technical expertise and skills to deliver at the highest standards. We welcome proposals from companies that contribute to the local and regional economy, that have a diverse and inclusive workforce and that promote sustainable working relationships with local iwi.
Outcomes expected from the successful tenderer
Data Capture Survey
For each property, point cloud data capture of buildings (interior and exterior), structures, landscape features, topography, site plan and boundaries. The successful provider will be expected to also capture movable assets such as heritage items and machineries. Please specify in the proposal data capture technology, methodology, resolution (point density) and accuracy.
Point cloud raw data and registered point cloud files are to be delivered to Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga.
Please detail hardware and storage requirements needed to run the point cloud.
- Heritage Building Information Modelling
- Creation of 3D models with level of details equivalent to “as built”
- Please detail hardware and storage requirements needed to run the models.
- State any interoperability issues that may arise from the data format used in the heritage building modelling.
- Please specify the process for presentation of the outcomes and data handover
