Tender ID: 425957
Tender Details
Tender Description
The project is to develop a strategy for managing the Myrtleford Breakaway. The Myrtleford Breakaway is the threat of the Ovens River breaking away from its current course south of Myrtleford to scour a new channel along Happy Valley Creek and through the township of Myrtleford. Whilst this process has commenced, the very substantial impacts on water resources, assets, the environment and community values are yet to be realised.
This proposed Myrtleford Breakaway Strategy comprises a comprehensive risk analysis that is communicated to Traditional Owners, community and stakeholders to co-develop a vision for the Ovens River and Myrtleford along Happy Valley Creek.
It is then proposed to plan adaptation to the breakaway in concert with community and stakeholders. Focussed vulnerability and resilience planning for key assets, services and stakeholders will then be undertaken.
Risks, dependencies and opportunities for the wider Myrtleford Integrated Water Plan and flood management will then be addressed to ensure these future initiatives compliment management of the breakaway.
