Tender Details
Tender Description
The Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC) within Army Headquarters has been tasked to design and certify a Mission Partner Environment (MPE) solution for the Headquarters On-The-Move (HQOTM) capability to be delivered by Land Project 2072 Phase 2B. The services delivered within the HQOTM vehicle will be required to interface into the existing MPE system and must be compliant with the Vehicle Standard Operating Environment. The solution needs to support two users whilst moving, with potential for additional users while static and will have constrained WAN access through the use of disadvantaged TDMA SATCOM links. The HQOTM MPE node will have interfaces to tactical command and control services within the vehicle, accessing tactical radio networks.
The LNIC has established a small project team to commence work on the task and now requires the services of a Linux System Administrator to augment the team. The LNIC is based in Canberra with a small number of personnel working remotely from Brisbane. Therefore, LNIC are seeking Canberra or Brisbane based personnel to fulfil the role.
Scope
The LNIC is seeking an individual with broad Linux-based system administration experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Linux servers within the HQOTM node.
This will involve:
• Reviewing and providing advice on the design and implementation of the HQOTM node.
• Installing and configuring Linux components within the node.
• Performing system maintenance and resolving server-side issues.
• Managing, coordinating, and implementing software upgrades, patches and hotfixes.
• Creating and modifying scripts or applications to perform specified tasks.
• Transferring knowledge to support personnel.
• Contributing to training material development.
