Tender Details
Tender Description
Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises Pty Ltd (KEE) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified Contractors to operate a Reuse Shop and Repair Facility at the Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre in Terrey Hills, Sydney. Following evaluation of submissions KEE then intends to issue select Requests for Tender to Contractors identified by this EOI process.
The KRRC receives and processes a range of wastes from KEE's shareholders (Northern Beaches Council and Mosman Council). It is also the local resource recovery and disposal centre for self-haul customers in the shareholder councils, and wider northern suburbs region for non-putrescible solid wastes and materials.
Since the early 1990s the quantity of waste material managed on the site has increased from approximately 100,000t per year to approximately 300,000t per year. The majority of waste material is recycled and since 2014/15 the resource recovery rate has been at or around 80%. Since the late 1990's KEE has also operated a Reuse Shop (currently known as the Buy Back Centre) on site which is heavily utilised by the local community.
KEE has recently constructed a new administration building and has the old administration complex now available as the proposed Site for a Reuse Shop/Repair Facility outside of the NSW EPA licensed area, that has parking, toilets, potable water and sewer access as well as data and power connected.
KEE intends to offer this Site up for use by the successful Contractor to operate a Re-use Shop/Repair Facility and associated activities to promote the circular economy on site and as result will issue a select Request for Tender (RFT) in late 2020 to a short list of parties identified through this EOI.
KEE then intends to enter into a Contract with a suitable Participant for a period of 5 years with further extension of four (4) years in two (2) year increments at the sole discretion of KEE to provide the Re-use Shop/Repair Facility on the Site.
Briefing and Site visit:
There will be a non-mandatory EOI Briefing and Site Inspection on Thursday the 17th of September 2020 at 9am at the Site.
