Tender Description

The Quannup pastoral lease (lease) is located on the south coast of Western Australia in the Nannup Shire. The lease is surrounded by the D'Entrecasteaux National Park and is in close proximity to Lake Jasper, the Donnelly River and Blackpoint.

The Shire of Nannup is seeking expressions of interest for possible development. The lease has not been used for pastoral pursuits for decades and has reverted to bush land, which is particularly stunning spring. The lease offers one of the last opportunities for an isolated, low impact, coastal recreation and tourism experience relatively close to Perth.

Minimum Criteria to be addressed:

  • Detail concept proposal and designs (road access, sites, etc).
  • Details on running experience running a similar type of venture.
  • Details of how the venture would increase the economic growth of Nannup (including townsite).
  • How will any environmental and aboriginal protection requirements (if any) will be addressed.

Quannup is approximately 55 kilometers from the Nannup town centre.

The lease has not been used for pastoral pursuits for decades and has reverted to bush land, which is particularly stunning during spring. The lease offers one of the last opportunities for an isolates, low impact, coastal recreation and tourism experience relatively close to Perth.

The Shire of Nannup would like to enable greater public access to the land and adjoining coastline and low-key tourism and other development, potentially inclusing:

  • A recreation and camping reserve vested in the Nannup Shire with the power to lease (Camping, caravans, chalets, eco-lodges).
  • An exhibition/education centre with a focus on Aboriginal medicine/foods/tourism and heritage.
  • Walking and hiking trails.
  • Other appropriate low-key tourism and development uses
