RNM is currently constructing a new, advanced forging and manufacturing facility located on a greenfield site within an existing industrial precinct in Maryborough, Queensland.
The facility will manufacture large caliber artillery projectile shells with an initial operating capacity of 30,000 artillery shell cases per year.
An artillery shell case is an inert steel body, measuring approximately 155mm in diameter, 800mm in height, and weighing around 35 kilograms in a finished condition.
RNM is looking for EOI from companies that can supply, install, and commission materials handling and lifting equipment on-site within the Maryborough, QLD production facility.
Current planning estimates the facility could require quantities of the following lifting and handling solutions.
• Jib cranes (100-150kg)
• Electric hoists (Single hand control 100-150kg)
• Lifting magnets (300kg)
• Mobile gantry crane (2000kg)
• Electric chain hoist (2000kg)
Jib Cranes and hoists will be used in a high-volume production layout where machine load/unload time is critical. A highly efficient handling result is essential.
A solution to lifting munition shells from a vertical, standing position and transferring to a horizontal position ready for machine loading would be welcomed.
NOTE: RNM do not require suppliers to be able to offer all items listed. We would like to extend the opportunity to all Suppliers to supply one, or all the items listed when they submit their EOI.
After signing an NDA and a EUC, further information and drawings can be provided.
