Tender Description
Julia Creek is a Western Queensland town located on the Flinders Highway, the major arterial between Townsville and Mount Isa. Julia Creek is 664 km from Townsville and 253 km from Mount Isa and has a population in the Township of approximately 650 with 1200 people residing in the Shire of McKinlay.
The McKinlay Shire Council is wishing to upgrade the existing Julia Creek Livestock Facility to provide a new dip and dripping yards located outside of Julia Creek.
The project site is located just off Flinders Highway west of Julia Creek. The lot currently accommodates the existing weighing station and cattle yards and is owned by the Council.
A water tank, safety shower, water feeds, troughs, cattle crush, dip and shade, cattle railing and gates will need to be constructed and installed adjacent to the existing livestock facilities, as per the tender's design requirements. The full scope of works are detailed in the tender documents.
This extension will improve the overall management and structure of the existing facility to contribute to the economic development of the McKinlay Shire.
