The Emerald Tourist Railway Board (ETRB) is intending to release a Request for Tender in December 2020 for the construction of the carpark, bus parking, landscaping and pedestrian access at the Puffing Billy Lakeside Visitor Centre (LVC) located at Emerald Lake Park. This is the second stage of the works for the LVC to provide enhanced visitor facilities for the Railway. The project will be for Works-only construction of the landscaping, parking and pedestrian access to include the approximately 120 carparks and several bus staging spaces.

The general nature of the Works or Construction Services to be procured, including the reference code used in the applicable form: RFT 2012-01: Commercial construction of 120 space (approx.) carpark, 3 space bus parking, DDA spaces, pavement, pedestrian access and landscaping. Scope includes removal of approximately 80 trees as a separable portion.

Minimum certification requirements or technical capability requirements:
Invitees will be required to demonstrate experience in the delivery of carpark construction, pavement, pedestrian access and landscaping with a proven history of successful project delivery in public, active operational sites, including environmentally sensitive areas.

Current registration on registers such as:

1. Dept. of Treasury & Finance Construction Supplier Register (CSR)
2. Dept. of Transport Pre-qualification scheme. (R1 & Landscaping)
3. other similar prequalification will be favourably regarded.

Tender information: The ETRB’s preference is for suppliers with experience with medium sized civil works to architectural design in the public / tourism sector in active public / operational and environmentally sensitive locations.
