WorkCover conduct tenders every 3-5 years to appoint a panel of Suppliers to provide Independent Medical Examinations (IME). The current IME panel was appointed in July 2018 and the current term will expire in June 2021. There is a one year option available to WorkCover, however due to changes in requirements and specialty areas, the decision has been made not to extend the current panel. A new panel will be formed as part of this tender.

No current IME panel positions are carried over, and Suppliers must apply if they wish to provide (or continue to provide) IME services for WorkCover. Current panel members should treat this application as if it was the first time applying; that is, provide succinct yet detailed responses and not rely on current panel member status. This cannot be stressed enough.

Suppliers should assume that WorkCover has no prior knowledge of their business, experience or submission.

Applicants are not required to be based in Queensland, however must be willing to travel to Queensland for regular appointments as required. Specialists will be required to meet minimum mandatory criteria and meet service level standards throughout the contract term if appointed.

The criteria against which the Supplier’s offer will be evaluated include:

• EC1 – Background information (experience and qualifications);
• EC2 – Capability;
• EC3 – Quality assurance; and
• EC4 – Value for money.

Applicants must complete and return WCQ249 – IME - ITO (Schedule A) and WCQ249 – IME - contract details, and attach copies of:

1. fellowship certificate
2. GEPI / PIRS certificates of completion
3. Medical indemnity insurance certificate of currency
4. Public liability insurance certificate of currency
5. AHPRA registration certificate/summary
6. Two page resume
7. Two IME report examples (with personal information redacted).
