Tender Details
Tender Description
The State of Queensland through Technical Services, a business unit of the Department of Resources, invites you to submit an offer in response to the above-mentioned tender.
The department manages the public health and safety risks associated with numerous Abandoned Mines throughout the state, including Mount Oxide abandoned mine site. Mount Oxide is situated approximately 140km north of Mount Isa, with the closest operational mine site being Capricorn Copper, located 40km prior to reaching the site.
The site frequently encounters contamination events, particularly during the wet season between December and April. A recent options assessment identified elements to reduce the risk of contamination of local creeks due to water runoff and seepage, and delivered a design package for infrastructure aimed to mitigate these events.
Technical Services are now seeking to engage a suitably experienced contractor to construct a series of drain diversions and sedimentation control structures, as well as building and expanding water catchment facilities on site.
Due to external constraints we are unable to facilitate site visits as part of this tender. A comprehensive information pack is being provided instead, which consists of drone imagery, drawings and maps of the site. To access the information pack, please email AMUProcurement@dnrme.qld.gov.au requesting such, along with a name and email address to provide the access to. Please allow up to one business day to receive the download link. The link will only work for the nominated email address and will only be accessible for the duration of the tender period.
Should you have any further enquiries regarding this invitation, please contact Andrea Bell-Booth by email AMUProcurement@dnrme.qld.gov.au
