Tender Description

** closing date not specified please confirm with the Issuer**

REACTIVATE the streetscape – Art windows
REACTIVATE the streetscape will include installations of art in local business windows, on balconies around town and on the footpath and will include Static displays of Fine Art, Sculpture, Photography and Projections. The art installed in local business windows will be on display for the duration of the festival and presented as a mapped walking tour of our town that audiences can visit day or night.
The CFF program will include a nominated day and night specific tour of the town where the participating art windows will be presented alongside performance installations, roving street performers and live music.
In your EOI we invite you to think about your proposed exhibition, is it one piece, many pieces, are they tiny or huge, 2D or 3D, how will you display/hang/light your work. Artists will be able to sell their work (after the festival) and are encouraged to GO TO TOWN on decorations, lighting and anything else that brings your window to life.

REACTIVATE the streetscape – Performance Installations
As part of the streetscape walk around town we will activate some spaces for performance installations and roving performers, dates are TBC but we anticipate one day walk and one night walk – the idea for this is incidental art, performances will need to be short, just 2 or 3 minutes (so not long enough to generate a huge crowd) People wander off, you have a quick break and then repeat – as we don’t believe there is ability to generate income from this style of performances these will be paid opportunities, spaces are limited.

REACTIVATE the streetscape – Flash-mob style
Across the festival we would love to see more of this style of collective action. We anticipate responders could be teaching routines as part of paid online courses with the performance outcome of being included in the festival program. You can flash mob and socially distance, you just need several portable speakers and mobbers game enough to spread out and perform. DO IT!
REACTIVATE the streetscape – Street Musicians
Supported by the Victorian Government’s Community Activation & Social Isolation Initiative and Mount Alexander Shire Council
We will be curating pop up stages around town for street musicians, and we would love to hear from you if you have a street music set up (think again COVID – if it’s yours it doesn’t need to be cleaned, etc., and it also really helps us with logistics) this would be suitable for small acts (one or two performers) and will be paid at $50 per hour – places are limited). There are lots of opportunities on the run up too and across the program for this kind of street activation, and music brings our streets to life, so tell us that you want to play so we can make it happen. Please identify if you have your own sound set up in the notes.

REACTIVATE Music and theatre performances
COVID restrictions mean the audience members are set based on 1 person per 4 square meters – should restrictions be relaxed (and we absolutely hope they will) then we will bump up ticket numbers accordingly. As much as possible we encourage events to be low cost and accessible to all. Depending on location, some fees may apply.
Ticketed Theatre in the round @ Lot19 – Social distancing rules apply – Audience members 200
Ticketed Live music @ The Taproom (external) Social distancing rules apply – Audience members 200
Ticketed Live music @ The Taproom (internal) Social distancing rules apply – Audience members 50
Ticketed Dinner & a show @ various restaurants and bars around town – at current restrictions Audience members approx. .50, ticket price would include a meal

REACTIVATE – Workshops
Got skills you want to share in circus, teach art classes or have a desire to lead a synchronised swimming class? Responders could teach in person or online, with classes/performances/exhibitions promoted and included as part of the festival program.

REACTIVATE – Solo Show at LOT19
Participant info Fringe is interested in receiving Expressions of Interest (EOI) from artist/s interested in a solo or group show at Lot19. Lot 19 has two gallery spaces (annex gallery and large gallery, as well as interesting outdoor areas.
Lot19 offers artists the opportunity to exhibit in one of Castlemaine’s biggest and best galleries. During the Fringe and State Festivals Lot19 attracts lots of out-of-town visitors as well as locals. See their website for more detail: https://www.lot19art.com
A discounted Lot19 Gallery Fee of $350 will be split between participating artists, and artists need to commit to minding the Gallery during the opening hours of 10-5 Fri, Sat & Sun (minimum) for the duration of the festival.

REACTIVATE – Other
if what you want to put on, be it an event or style of offering we haven’t covered above please tell us about it.
We have several venues where installation of projections, exhibitions and sculpture would also be suitable, and we want to hear from you, about what you want to do, and where you want to do it. Please tell us what you would like to do, and we will do our best to support and accommodate you.
