Tender Description
This package of works is for the construction of 14 kilometres of embankments that form the seawater intake channel and settlement pond, as well as 27 kilometres of embankments that form the main discharge channel and environmental protection zones.
- Clear, grub, and strip site (approximately 166 hectares of predominately grassed land);
- Stockpile approximately 160,000 cubic metres of topsoil (adjacent to project area to be agreed between Principal and Contractor).
- Lay standard geofabric and install rock bed before embankment construction where required on incompetent soils estimated to be 30% of embankment area.
- Load and transport principal issued rock material from Forsyth Creek Quarry approximately 35 kilometres from the seawater intake.
- Provide stabilised embankment base for the seawater intake channel hard stand area.
- Cut, fill, shape, and compact approximately 750,000 cubic metres of black soils to form the embankments of the Seawater intake channel (Settlement pond) and the Main discharge channel.
- The Seawater intake channel southeast embankment top to be sheeted with 150 mm of principal issued shale, to be trucked by Contractor from Forsyth Creek Quarry.
Road access to the site may be restricted, and or closed due to conditions associated with the northern Australian wet season.
Contractors are to supply all labour, equipment, services, consumables, offices, amenities including accommodation, messing, and transport for staff to facilitate the works.
In accordance with PSD’s commitments to building local and Indigenous capacity in the region, the EOI evaluation will include a weighting for utilising local and regional businesses in the Northern Territory and the Kimberly region of Western Australia.
Respondents to the EOI will be assessed and short listed, with short listed respondents to be invited to tender.
PSD reserve the right to combine this package and or parts of this package with any other project package.
