This is an Advanced Tender Notice to receive notification from parties interested in tendering for the project. Please note that this advance tender notice is not the actual tender. No tender documentation is provided at this stage.

Project Summary

The Victorian School Building Authority is intending to release a Request for Tender in May 2021 for the main contractor services for major asbestos removal works, partial demolition and associated minor building works of a 3 storey building at Lalor Secondary College located at 118 David St, Lalor VIC 3075 to modernise the building for the school. The project will require main contractor to nominate a Class A licensed asbestos removal contractor as part of the team. Works include set up and execution of extensive asbestos removal and partial demolition back to base structure of a 3 storey building in conjunction with a licenced Asbestos removalist, works to ensure the remaining base building is structurally sound, and set up of temporary carparking. The services of a licenced Hygenist to monitor the works will be procured separately. Contractors must be registered with the Department of Treasury and Finance’s Construction Supplier Register (CSR) as a commercial contractor, and be able to demonstrate past experience in projects of similar scale and complexity.

All respondents will need to have a current CSR Registration under the category New Commercial Construction Prequalification level amount no less than $5,000,000

A separate Request for Tender (RFT) will be issued. It is expected that approximately four tenderers will be invited. The VSBA will make a decision on which firms are to be invited to submit a tender, based on the firm’s experience, capability and capacity to undertake the work in the required timeframe, and past performance.
