Supply of water monitoring sensors - Mount Oxide
Tender ID: 452803
Tender Details
Tender Description
The department requires supply only of water quality monitoring sensors to replace existing legacy devices at remote abandoned mine sites in Queensland. This is the first stage of a wider project to upgrade monitoring and telemetry equipment at these sites. Future sensor purchases will likely be required as funding becomes available.
Supply of water quality monitoring sensors (sondes) to meet or exceed the criteria below:
Mine pit water monitoring:
- Monitored parameters to be a minimum of: water level (shallow depth range), pH, Electrical Conductivity and Temperature.
- Suitable for long term unattended deployment in mine pits and other permanent water storages in an acidic water environment with pH down to 2.3 possible (pH 2.5 to 3.0 common), with potential for very high concentrations of sulfur, iron and other metal contaminants.
- Additional ‘stand-alone’ water level devices may be considered to provide redundancy. This may include bubblers, ultrasonic, or any other type of water level sensor deemed suitable.
- (initial purchase of 2 to 4 units expected)
Water course monitoring:
- Monitored parameters to be a minimum of: water level (shallow depth range), Electrical Conductivity and Temperature.
- Suitable for long term deployment in local ephemeral streams which may be dry for most of the year, subject to high ambient temperatures (40 to 50ºC) and potentially subject to acid water flows (pH > 3.0)
- (initial purchase of 2 to 5 units expected)
Please note: delivery by no later than 15 June 2021 is required.
