Tender Description
The State Baseball Softball Centre is Victoria's premier baseball stadium and is located in Altona, about 15 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. The centre was opened in 1990 and was upgraded in 2012 to coincide with the arrival of the Melbourne Aces (Australian Baseball League franchise) to the venue.
The State Baseball Softball Centre has been run for the last 31 years by a voluntary Committee of Management arrangement with the State Government. Over that time the venue has gone through some changes mostly to the main playing field to bring it as close as possible with limited funding to an international standard field.
The successful contractor will design, supply and install LED lighting at the State Baseball Softball Centre enabling the existing metal halide to be replaced to elevate the provision and quality of lighting to meet the Australian Standard for Baseball allowing all levels of baseball to be played at night.
