The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority is the independent statutory authority responsible for regulation of agricultural and veterinary (agvet) chemicals proposed for supply in Australia. The agency performs its role in accordance with the responsibilities outlined in the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code Act 1994 and the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Administration) Act 1992.

The APVMA is seeking to replace the platform currently providing external portal and internal workflow services for industry to interact electronically with the APVMA for lodgement and assessment of permits, licences, product registrations, variations etc.

This role will be responsible for undertaking the following activities on behalf of the APVMA:

1. Engage closely with business subject matter experts to develop a sound understanding of the APVMA key business processes and provide support to the establishment of business processes to support myAPVMA.
2. Review, analyse and evaluate business processes, systems and user needs in the context of prescribed legislative and regulatory requirements.
3. Construct workflow diagrams, define business rules and user stories, identify system capabilities and gaps and write requirements specifications.
4. Manage requirements traceability by developing acceptance criteria and assisting with test planning
5. Provide input to business case development and procurement processes based on established understanding of the agency business requirements and legislative context
