Tender Description
The City of Melton is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Australia. At present, the majority of the municipality is undeveloped; however, this will change in the coming years, with large areas of land now within the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB).
Land recently brought into the UGB for future development, is zoned Urban Growth Zone, and requires a Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) to guide the transition of non-urban land into urban land. Once a PSP is prepared for an area, Urban Design Frameworks may be required as an extra level of planning for specific areas within the PSP.
The Rockbank North Major Town Centre Urban Design Framework will create a vision for the Major Town Centre, and guide its use and development. The Urban Design Framework will outline planning and urban design principles, which will enable Council to assess planning applications. Before development can occur in the Rockbank North Major Town Centre precinct, an Urban Design Framework must be approved by Council.
The Rockbank North Major Town Centre will contain a mix of retail, commercial, civic, community, health, entertainment and recreational uses which will service the needs of the existing and future residents of Aintree and surround suburbs
