Small businesses are the backbone of Queensland’s building and construction industry. They create jobs, employ apprentices and trainees, provide a supply chain of skilled workers to meet the demands of larger projects, and support economic growth and regional development. It is important for CSQ to support small businesses to ensure they grow, survive and prosper.
Given the vital role that these businesses play, CSQ’s Small Business Program aims to increase the capability and capacity of small construction businesses through training and support in order to assist these businesses to help them to grow, survive and prosper.
Through this program, CSQ partners with organisations specialising in small business support initiatives specifically targeted to the Queensland building and construction industry to target identified areas of need for these businesses.
Small Business Support Initiatives
This program will invest in opportunities to build small business capacity and capability, particularly in areas that the industry has identified as most needed, including:
- estimating, tendering, quoting and contract management
- marketing and business development
- financial and budgeting skills
- digital skills
- negotiation and conflict resolution
- knowledge to comply with legislations, regulations, standards and codes
- growing Indigenous business capacity to support use of local content and Indigenous engagement opportunities in the State Procurement Policy
Delivery of services for the Small Business program under this Invitation-to-offer must be delivered between 01 October 2021 and 30 September 2022.
