Tender Description

1. All materials shall be new and shall conform in appearance and quality to Industry Standards, requirements of this requisition, applicable Codes and Standards including relevant MDS requirements and recommended practice.

2. All materials shall be suitable for sour service to EN ISO15156 / NACE-MR-01-75, latest revision.

3. All Welded pipes and fittings shall have longitudinal weld 100% Radiographed. ERW Process Are Not Acceptable

4. All flanges 24 inches and smaller shall be furnished in strict accordance with ASME B16.5. Flanges larger than 24 inches shall be according to ASME B16.47 Series A.

5. Ring joint (RTJ) flanges shall have octagonal grooves conforming to ASME B 16.5.

6. Weldlets shall be supplied with manufacture recommendation on welding, especially for tapered bevels and a marking on the taper surface shall be clearly visible for welding requirements.

7. All the carbon steel grades covered by the MDS C-series have nickel content less than 1 % and are not free-machining steels

8. All components are specified to be delivered in heat-treated conditions, hardness testing is not specified unless hardness is a mandatory requirement of the relevant reference standard such as A105 and A350.

9. Nominal thickness above 12.7mm requires impact test at -29 degC. The Minimum absorbed energy for full size specimen shall be 27J average and 20 J single. Impact testing methods and acceptance criteria shall be as per ASME B31.3 & ASTM A370

10. Materials shall be identified with batch or heat number for proper traceability. Unidentified materials are not acceptable.

11. All components shall be hard marked in a low stressed area according to MSS-SP-25 with sufficient identification data to correctly identify the component during storage, handling, fabrication and assembly. Unless specified otherwise, the marking shall consist of generic manufacturer’s specification number and heat numbers.

12. All the pipes and fittings shall be colour coded as per the specification to simplify identification of pipe during storage and after the pipe has been cut for fabrication or returned to stock.

13. All materials shall be supplied with material certificates conforming to EN 10204, Type 3.1.

14. Substitution of equivalent materials is subject to approval. All requests for substitution shall be accompanied with sufficient data / details for review / approval.

15. Packing and preservation shall be as per project specifications.


High level estimate of quantities:

1) Carbon Steel ASTM A105, A106 & A234 - pipes / fittings / flanges / supports (galvanized, non-galvanized) – 1,000.40 MT

2) Low Temp Carbon Steel & High Tensile Carbon Steel ASTM A333, A350, A420, A516, A694 & A860 - pipes / fittings / flanges – 340.96 MT

Package issued for quote and subsequent order placement may be split by material grade or type.

For example, separate packages may be issued for pipes, and/or for fittings and/or for flanges (different types)
Or separate packages may be issued for CS, and/or for LTCS and/or for HTCS (different grades)
