Tender Description
Tenders are invited from pre-qualified contractors with Transport for NSW under the National Prequalification Scheme at Roadworks Category R3 (or higher), Financial Category F100 (or higher) and Bridge Category B1 (or higher for the Tenderer or its subcontractor) for the construction of the Newell Highway Heavy Duty Pavements, Narrabri to Moree, Stage 1.
Stage 1 of the work generally involves the construction of four sections of the Newell Highway totalling approximately 27.3km of highway upgrade over the 100km length between Narrabri and Moree, including intersections and adjoining roads.
The sections are:
- Narrabri to Moree Section 1 – N2MS1 6.5km to 13.3km north of Narrabri 6.8km
- Narrabri to Moree Section 2 – N2MS2 17.7 km to 25.8km north of Narrabri 8.1km
- Narrabri to Moree Section 3 – N2MS3 46.4km to 50.8km north of Narrabri 4.4km
- Narrabri to Moree Section 5 – N2MS5 88.2km to 96.2km north of Narrabri 8.0km
The work includes; earthworks, pavements, stormwater drainage (including bridge sized culverts), kerbs and medians, public utility adjustments/protection, street lighting, property adjustments, fencing, five overtaking lanes, Bobbiwaa Creek bridge safety barrier replacement, demolition/removal of existing bridge sized culverts and vegetation.
A pre-tender meeting will be held on Tuesday 12 October 2021 via a web-based Microsoft Teams meeting commencing at 8.30am (due to the current Covid-19 situation in NSW). Video footage of the site will be provided at the pre-tender meeting. Attendance is mandatory to submit a conforming tender.
All tenderers who have downloaded tender documents will be automatically registered for the pre-tender meeting. If you wish to attend the pre-tender meeting and have not downloaded the tender documents, you will need to register to attend the pre-tender meeting by emailing:

By submitting an RFT for this project you will become subject to the Code for the Tendering and Performance of Building Work 2016.
It is a requirement for this project that the successful contractor be accredited under the Australian Government Work Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme (the Scheme) at the time of entering into the contract for ‘building work’ for the Project and must maintain accreditation under the Scheme while the ‘building work’ is being carried out.
